Understanding Daytona Pricing and Custom Tier Options
Last updated: September 5, 2025
Daytona charges for compute (CPU, RAM, storage) on a usage-based model. You can track credits and usage directly in your Wallet.
Standard Pricing
Standard per-hour rates for CPU, RAM, and storage are listed on our pricing page. Charges are deducted from your wallet balance as you use sandboxes.
Custom Tiers
If your workloads exceed the standard tiers, you can upgrade to a custom tier. Custom tiers provide higher guaranteed limits for CPU, memory, and storage.
Key details:
Custom tiers require a monthly top-up commitment to cover infrastructure at that level.
The commitment is fully credited to your wallet—there are no extra fees or markup.
Pricing per CPU, RAM, and storage remains the same as standard usage rates.
You can self-upgrade to a new tier from the dashboard.
Example: Tier 4
Resources: 500 vCPU, 1000 GB RAM, 5000 GB storage
Monthly top-up: $2000 (credited to your wallet)
At full usage: infrastructure costs ~$42/hour
The $2000 covers ~47 hours of runtime at full capacity
Important Notes
Rollover: Any unused balance rolls over to the next month.
New top-up required: Each month requires a new top-up, even if you still have rollover.
Right-sizing: If you consistently use less than your commitment, consider a lower tier.

Custom Tiers and Scaling
If you need resources beyond the standard tiers, custom tiers are available and easy to adjust. This is particularly useful if you're expecting large or spiky workloads that require scaling up quickly.
How Custom Tiers Work
Custom tiers require a monthly commitment to cover infrastructure costs at that level
There are no hidden fees or added charges
Everything committed is included in your usage
Pricing stays consistent with the standard pricing structure
You can self-upgrade to new tiers directly from within the dashboard
Example: Tier 4 Pricing
For Tier 4 (500 vCPU, 1000 GB RAM, 5000 GB storage):
Monthly commitment: $2000 top-up
This amount is fully applied to your usage with no markup
At full capacity, infrastructure costs approximately $42/hour
The $2000 covers roughly 47 hours of runtime at full capacity
Important Notes
Unused balance from your monthly commitment rolls over to the next month
A new monthly top-up is still required each month regardless of unused balance
If you consistently don't use your committed resources, you may want to consider a lower tier
