How to upgrade your account tier and rate limits

Daytona offers multiple tiers with different rate limits and resource quotas. You can easily upgrade your account tier to access higher limits for your development needs.

Upgrading Your Tier

You can upgrade your account directly through the dashboard:

  1. Go to https://app.daytona.io/dashboard/limits

  2. Select the tier that meets your requirements

  3. Complete the upgrade process

Upgrades are straightforward and can be done immediately up to Tier 4. There are no technical limits preventing higher tiers if needed.

Custom Usage Limits

For production workloads or specialized requirements that exceed standard tiers, custom usage limits are available. This includes:

  • Custom CPU, RAM, and storage allocations

  • Higher sandbox limits

  • Specialized resource configurations

Pricing Structure

For higher tiers and custom limits, Daytona uses a monthly prepaid top-up model:

  • The top-up amount is not a service fee - it's fully applied toward your actual usage

  • No hidden fees, markups, or overages

  • Pay-as-you-go once the prepaid credit is used

  • Any unused balance carries over to the following period

This model ensures reliable infrastructure provisioning at scale while providing transparent, usage-based pricing.

To discuss custom usage limits:

  1. Contact the Daytona team with your requirements

  2. Provide details about your expected sandbox size and resources needed

  3. Share an estimate of peak concurrent sandboxes

  4. Specify your ideal sandbox configuration

The team can set up custom limits immediately once your requirements are understood and the monthly commitment is established.
